Eku Energy

Initially established by Macquarie’s Green Investment Group, Eku Energy is jointly owned by a Macquarie Asset Management managed fund and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI). Eku Energy’s purpose-built team brings together specialist technical capabilities, with experience across origination, development, system design, power markets and software optimisation. By combining technical, digital and financial innovation with a local partnership approach and data driven understanding of markets, we develop sophisticated revenue contracting strategies that maximise the benefits of energy storage systems in any given location.

In November 2022, Macquarie Asset Management’s Green Investment Group (GIG) launched Eku Energy via the Macquarie Green Investment Group Energy Transition Solutions (MGETS) fund.  Eku Energy is a global company working across the full project life-cycle, developing, financing, building and actively managing utility-scale energy battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects for the long-term. The team brings together specialist energy storage technical capabilities, with experience across origination, development, system design, power markets, regulation and software optimisation. Eku Energy has been established to fund a 4GWh pipeline of energy storage projects with a portfolio of projects in key markets around the world, including the UK, Australia, Japan, and Taiwan.

Perfection Private is a family-owned company which invests in innovation, across bio-medical, IT, sustainability, as well as property projects including the Rangebank Business Park. The Rangebank Business Park is a 20 hectare industrial estate located in Cranbourne West, proud home to the Rangebank BESS.
