Rangebank BESS Construction Update

Construction work at the Rangebank BESS has made good progress in 2024 with all major equipment installed on prepared foundations. The Cranbourne Terminal Station Bay works were completed on schedule by AusNet and the Bay H energised on 9 May 2024. Electrical and communications reticulation works and commissioning activities are nearing completion. The BESS energised its 220kV cable and HV substation in early August 2024, aligning with AEMO granting Generator Registration. This registration allows the BESS to proceed with the Hold Point testing activities as the BESS advances to its target of achieving full output in October 2024.
